2018 Curatorial Development Program – Call for Applications

The Japan Foundation, Manila, UP Vargas Museum, and Philippine Contemporary Art Network (PCAN) announce a call for applications for a Curatorial Workshop in October 2018. The program is aimed at enhancing expertise in curating contemporary art and related platforms. Selected participants are required to present an exhibition/art project proposal at the workshop and three participants will be asked to organize an exhibition/art project in 2019 at the Vargas Museum.
Please submit the duly accomplished application form and the required documents to The Japan Foundation, Manila via e-mail (svelasco@jfmo.org.ph) on or before August 19, 2018.

About Jorge B. Vargas Museum

It aims to preserve its collection donated by Jorge B. Vargas and conducts research, exhibitions, publications, and educational programs. The Vargas Museum and Filipiniana Research Center houses a museum, archives, and library devoted to the Philippine history, art, and culture from the late 19th century until the post-war era. Its main beneficiaries are students, faculty, researchers and scholars of the Philippines and Asia.

#VargasVisits: Fellows and project workers of Acts of Life: Critical Residency came to the museum this afternoon. The residency project is a collaboration of Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore, Goethe-Institut Philippinen, and Goethe-Institut Singapore.
#VargasVisits: Young scholars of the Winter School of Advanced Philippine Studies came yesterday to view the permanent and temporary exhibitions of Vargas Museum. The studies program is a collaboration among several Asian exchange organizations including the SEASREP Foundation. #Lander #LostParadise
