WHAT MAKES something valuable? If a costly material is melted, exposed to the elements, or released to the wild, does it diminish in importance, or does the thing itself retain its worth? Why does reconstruction make a thing lose its significance when it’s still essentially the same material? Why is society obsessed with the useful and the profitable anyway? Why do people belittle ideas and efforts that don’t turn a quick buck?
